Former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso beat No. 2 Manon Fiorot via unanimous decision (29-28 x3) at Noche UFC in Glendale, out-boxing the French contender and dropping her late to stay in the title picture.
What Happened
Alexa Grasso (18-5-1, Mexico) met No. 2 Manon Fiorot (13-3, France) on Sep. 12 at Desert Diamond Arena. Grasso was aggressive from the horn, breaking up Fiorot with boxing and dropping her with a right hook late in round 1. Fiorot, a -280 favorite, rallied in round 3 with body kicks but could not erase Grasso’s early lead.
All three judges scored 29-28 for Grasso, who jumps back toward a title shot after a three-fight winless run. The bout headlined Mexican Independence Day weekend and was fought in front of a pro-Grasso crowd.
